Seasonal Floral Designer
Location
Home-based floral studio in Hollywood, South Carolina, with additional travel to set-ups and breakdown around Charleston County
Pay
$20-35/hour, based on experience
Schedule
Wednesday-Sunday, 30 hours/week, with flexible daily schedule (such as 7:00am-12:00pm, 10:00am-3:00pm)
Additional Hours
Occasional weekends for wedding set-ups (specific dates shared upon hire)

About the Role
We’re seeking a Floral Designer to join our team for the Spring (February - mid-June) and Fall (September-December) wedding and event seasons. Duties include:
Design and execute floral arrangements for daily orders, events, weddings, and custom projects
Process, condition, and care for fresh flowers and botanicals
Assist with event preparation, set-ups, and breakdowns as scheduled
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the studio and design areas
Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless operations
Support inventory tracking and product usage
Interact professionally with clients and fellow wedding vendors as needed, representing the Sweetleaf brand
Schedule & Job Structure:
30 hours per week, with a relatively consistent weekly schedule (Note: additional hours may be available depending on scope of that week’s events)
This role is structured as an independent contractor (1099) position
Contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and related obligations
Required Qualifications:
1-2 years of prior professional floral design experience required
Knowledge regarding arrangement designs and flower types
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize, with understanding this is a time-sensitive environment
Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Reliable, communicative, and self-directed
Must be legally eligible to work as an independent contractor
Valid driver’s license for delivery help
Willing to submit to a South Carolina criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with large scale events and hanging installations, including potential for working on a ladder.
Ability to stand in as lead floral designer at events as needed
Comfort with a seasonal work schedule, including planned time off during the summer months (July-August). This role is ideal for designers who value focused, high-volume work during peak wedding seasons and appreciate downtime in the off-season.
